Why Am I An Artist?

Four years ago, a good friend of mine passed away unexpectedly. This situation put me into a deep depression and anxiety ridden life for quite awhile. One day, I decided to draw how I felt. The result was “In God’s Hands” and “Clinging to God”.

“In God’s Hands”

Cling in to God

I began to draw and eventually paint how I was feeling and as I did, my anxiety and depression got better. I was able to work through my feelings about my friend’s death through art. God began to use my art to speak to me on a personal level. My art became more than an outlet. It became part of who I am. It became part of the mission God has given me.

I started listening to worship songs and God would often show me a picture of the meaning of the song. Examples are “The Coming Dawn” and “In The Middle of The Storm.” I want to show what God means to me and what He has done for me. It is because of Him that I am able to better handle my anxiety and depression.

Ephesians 2:10 is the verse I chose for my art studio name.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Eph210Artstudio was created to spread the Gospel of Christ through art. Ephesians 2:10 says, ” “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This is the mission of Eph210ArtStudio. To do the good things that Christ has created for me to do.

Jesus Christ is my inspiration for most, if not all of my art work. It is because of Him that I am an artist. He has created me to be creative to glorify him.

I pray that God blesses you through the art that He has helped me create. He has done many wonderful things for me and I pray the same for you.
